Selftape, is the new series produced by Filmax that has the Filmin Original label, which after the success of Doctor Portuondo, will premiere the second Spanish fiction on the platform. The sisters and actresses Joana and Mireia Vilapuig play the protagonists in a story with autobiographical overtones directed by Bárbara Farré. A series made up of six 30-minute episodes shot in several languages (mainly Catalan and Spanish) and co-written by the Vilapuig sisters themselves along with Ivan Mercadé (Tots Lie, Cites), Carlos Robisco and Clara Esparrach. A project led by Mercadé and the Vilapuig sisters also in executive production, together with Pau Freixas (Everybody Lies, Days of Christmas, Red Bracelets), Carlos Fernández and Laura Fernández Brites. Filmax and Filmin bet on the very personal project of the sisters Joana and Mireia Vilapuig, 27 and 25 years old, actresses who found success thanks to the series Polseres vermelles (Polseres vermelles) a decade ago. Joana Vilapuig has also worked in films such as Palm Trees in the Snow or Otto’s Place, while Mireia has appeared in series such as Night and Day and The Innocent. Selftape is an autobiographical fiction about two actresses who discovered the fervor of fans as children and who now, in their twenties, seek their place in the audiovisual industry and in life, in the midst of an uncertain context in every way. The six chapters have been directed by Bárbara Farré, winner of several awards with the short film La Última Virgen and director of video clips such as F*cking Money Man, by Rosalia, or El relámpago, by Amaia. Farré She was born in Barcelona in 1994. She won the Gaudí Award for Best Short Film with “The Last Virgin” (2017), her final year project at ESCAC. She has directed video clips for artists such as Rosalía, Amaia and Bad Gyal, as well as some episodes of the series «Every time we fall in love». Selftape is a Filmax production that has the Filmin Original label, the participation of Radiotelevisión Española and the support of the Catalan Institute of Cultural Companies (ICEC). It will premiere on Filmin during the first quarter of 2023.
