FAQS

  • WHAT SERVICES DOES THE MFC OFFER?

We mediate between production companies interested in filming a town in the Maresme and the municipal departments that manage the spaces owned by each town hall, providing information on the filming conditions, as well as the possibilities offered by each space.

  • HOW TO PROCEED IN ORDER TO SHOOT IN THE MARESME?

All production companies wishing to shoot in the Maresme must have prior authorisation from the corresponding City Council, which varies from town to town. In order to process your request, please contact the Maresme Film Commission and they will tell you what to do in each case.

  • IS IT NECESSARY FOR THE PRODUCTION COMPANY TO HAVE INSURANCE DURING SHOOTING?

Each production must have a civil liability insurance covering its own risks. The civil liability insurance covers possible damages that the staff working on a production may cause to third parties. It is obligatory and must be in force from the beginning of the production until the end of the postproduction process. In certain cases of complex filming or special locations, the managing entity may request other types of insurance or guarantee.

  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SHOOT IN THE MARESME?

Currently the cost of filming for each town is stipulated by the bylaws of each town. Thus, there are specific regulations for the occupation of public roads and different municipal spaces with marked rates.

  • HOW CAN THE MFC TEAM ADVISE YOU?

The MFC team can advise you and offer information on the feasibility of filming in public spaces, as well as point out the pros and cons of possible locations and, at the same time, propose alternative locations.

  • WHO PAYS FOR THE SERVICES ARISING FROM THE SHOOT?

Production companies must take care of services derived from filming, such as the need for the presence of local police, firefighters or medical personnel, the cleaning service or various supplies, such as water or electricity. The cost of these services, fixed by budget and / or according to municipal ordinances, will be paid in the manner and at the time determined by each department.
